White Bear opened the scoring early in the game with a delightful chip over the goal-keeper by Ryan Dunne, and they deservedly led at half-time.

But the second half was evenly balanced with Wrexham Lager well in the game, creating a few chances, until about 70 minutes when they won a penalty, which was converted by James Trigg.

The game was now end to end, but George Thomas and man of the match Leon Jones, both scored late in the game to give White Bear the win.

Queensferry Sports Challenge Cup Final at Flint FC

Congratulations to Claims Solutions UK on beating Offa's Dyke 2 - 1, in a very hard fought, close encounter. Offa's took the lead with a late goal in the first half, but back came Claims Solutions to equalise and then score the winner, by Ben Jones with only minutes remaining. The game was excellently controlled by John Spender, with his two Assistants Brian Purcell and Martin Williams. The Man of the Match was Kyle Reid of Claims Solutions UK

Offa's Dyke had to come from a goal down to progress through to the final of the Challenge Cup. They finally won 5-1 against the White Bear who took an early lead through Kelvin Davies. The Offa then got going and were level at the break through a Jamie Meacock strike.The improvement continued after the break with Sam Spridgeon netting a brace . The Offa's Dyke then wrapped the tie up with late efforts from Ryan McCleary and Leon Whitley.
The tie between Wrexham Lager Club and visiting Claims Solutions went down to the wire with the Claims snatching the winner in the dying seconds of the game.They looked comfortable at 1-0 at the break and then added another at the start of the second half. Wrexham Lager then made a game of it to draw level with James Trigg getting a brace.Extra time looked to be on the cards but Claims won it at the death.

The Final will be played at Flint FC on Sunday 22nd April 2018, at 10.30am

The result of an "Emergency Meeting" held at the Melrose Inn on Sunday 25th February 

Following the resignation of Flint Town, the Deeside Sunday Football League has unanamously decided to complete this season with the remaining five teams.Two traditional cups will still be contested, these being the Queensferry Sports Challenge Cup and the Division 1 League Cup.

The League is intending to carry on next season in one format or another. Four teams have definitely decided at this time to enter sides for 2018/19 season. It would be advantageous to the committee if they could be advised of any other clubs interested in joining a Sunday League.

Just one match survived the weather this weekend and this resulted in Offa's Dyke winning 7-2 at the Wrexham Lager Club in the Group B of the Challenge Cup. The visitors dominated from the start and were comfortably 4-0 ahead at the break.On target were William Thomas and Sam Spridgeon with a brace. The hosts made a gallant effort in the second period and netted two via Jack Powlley and Nick Woollett. The men from Offa were not finished with Sam Spridgeon doubling his tally to four and Ryan McCleary getting a brace.

This week saw the White Bear travel to Claims Solutions in the Challenge Cup Group 1 and they started the better of the sides to dominate the opening half to get a 2-0 advantage by the break. The scorers were Karl Billingsley and an own goal. The hosts then changed thing around in the second period with efforts from Danny Wynne with a hat trick, Adam Randalls and Michael Woodward to give a final score of 5-2.

Claims Solutions kept their good home record going with a 6-2 home success over visiting Wrexham Lager Club. The home side scorers were Ben Jones with a hat trick, with one apiece from Kyle Reid, Danny Wynne and Josh Cooke. The Lagers' scorers were not reported.

Despite the heavy ground conditions, Offa's Dyke completed their home fixture against Wrexham Lager Club and ran out 11-2 winners.They opened up a four goal lead in the first half thanks to a brace each from Ben Evans and man of the match Leon Whitley. Dave Bromley then pulled one back for the visitors before Ryan McCleary got the fifth for a 5-1 interval score line. McCleary went on to net another three in the second half and although the Lager got another via Craig Hodges, a Sam Spridgeon effort completed the tally.
No report from Claims Solutions v Boathouse.

Deeside Sunday Football is continuing to run The Keith Hale Trophy, created in memory of the stalwart of Sunday football in the Wrexham area. In the first leg of the opening rounds the White Bear drew 5-5 with visiting Claims Solutions UK.It was a close encounter throughout with the hosts leading 3-2 at the break. On target was Ryan Davies with a hat trick with Ben Jones and Chad Shelbourne replying for the visitors.The second period saw the same goal tally as Tom Roberts and Ryan Dunn netted for the hosts and Ben Jones completing his hat trick plus Danny Harwin for Claims Solutions.
The same total of goals came in the other tie as Offa's Dyke overcome their visitors Flint FC 7-3. A goal each off Ryan McCleary and Sam Spridgeon had the hosts 2-1 up at the interval with Jamie Hayes replying. A Sean Beck brace in the second kept Flint interested but with both McCleary and Spridgeon completing their hat trick the Dyke men completed the task with Ben Evans getting the last.

The opening round of the League Cup saw Flint travel to Brymbo to play Wrexham Lager, where they won 9-3. The hosts opened the scoring through a Tom Edwards spot kick but the visitors hit back to lead 4-1 at the break,  Scott Hewitt netting three plus one from Jamie Hayes. Hayes netted a second after the break with Luke Tyson netting a hat trick and Lee Beck with the last.The hosts kept at their task and netted twice again through Craig Hodges and Mike Woollett.
The other game in this cup was abandoned after fifteen minutes due to the deterioration of the ground conditions following heavy rain showers.
In the Challenge Cup, Group B Claims Solutions UK won 6-3 at the White Bear.Ryan Hewitt put the visitors ahead only for Lee Fowler to bring the scores level again. Jamie Reed then put the White Bear in front only for Ben Jones to draw the sides level 2-2 at the break. Lee Fowler put the hosts in front again at the start of the second half but further efforts off Jake Wynne, Danny Wynne and Danny Harwin saw the Claims to success.

In the Group Stage of the League Cup Offa's Dyke overwhelmed visiting Wrexham Lager Club by 8-1. The home side took an early lead and were 3-0 up by the interval. There were two men who did the damage with four apiece. These were Ryan McCleary and Sam Spridgeon with Leon Barry Thomas getting the other. The consolation goal for the visitors came off David Bromley.

The White Bear coped better with the blustery conditions as they overcame visiting Wrexham Lager Club 8-1. They had a perfect start and won an early penalty, which Lee Fowler failed to convert. Ryan Davies  opened the scoring with a twenty five yard volley and then doubled his tally, with Mathew Roberts making it 3-0 at the break. Mathew Roberts then scored his second at the start of the second before Lee Fowler then got his brace. Dion Lewis pulled a consolation effort back for the visitors but Alan Batten finished it with the last.

The opening encounter of the Group Stage of the Challenge Cup saw the Boathouse share the spoils with visiting White Bear in a 2-2 draw. The hosts had the better of the opening half and were 2-0 up by the break, thanks to efforts from Jack Sullivan and Bryn Preece. The White then responded in the second half and hit back through Ryan Davies. They then missed a spot kick before a Damien Roberts free kick levelled the scores.

Flint FC are now the league leaders after they beat Offa's Dyke 4-1 at home, to leap-frog them into top spot .A Jamie Hayes brace and Luke Tyson had them three clear at the break and although Tom Crimes pulled one back in the second, Hayes completed his hat trick to give them a one point lead.
The Boathouse and visiting White Bear drew 1-1. They could not be separated for long as Johnny Crossley gave the hosts the lead but Ryan Davies replied for a 1-1 half time score line. Similarly in the second, Sean Williams putting had the Boathouse in front again but James Simpson salvaged a point for the White Bear.
Claims Solutions UK travelled to the Wrexham Lager Club and came away with all three points after a 7-1 win. It was 3-0 at the break and the men on target were Ben Jones with a hat trick, a Josh Cooke brace, Danny Wynne and David Jones. Mykel Woollett got the consolation strike for the Lager.

Claims Solutions UK maintained its good start to the season with another win, this time 4-2 away at the White Bear. They went a goal down early on when a Ryan Davies header gave the White Bear the lead. Ben Jones then got the sides level again but a Ryan Davies spot kick was enough to give the White Bear a 2-1 interval lead. Another penalty at the start of the second half, this time from Ryan Hewitt got the visitors level yet again but Claims then stepped up the pace and scored two more through Michael Williams with Danny Harvin netting the last.
Flint FC gained its second win with a 7-2 home success over Wrexham Lager Club. An Ian Jones brace and one off Lee beck had them 3-1 ahead at the interval, Jack Pullen replying just before the break. Flint continued to press in the second half and went further ahead through a Jamie Hayes brace. Although an Ash Williams effort kept the visitors interested, further strikers from Cameron Peters and Paul Johnson gave the hosts all three points.

Offa's Dyke remain top of the table with a perfect record of three wins. This time they triumphed 8-1 at home to the Boathouse. The game was close in the opening half with the hosts only up 3-1 at the break thanks to a Ryan McCleary brace and Tom Crimes. The Offa's then dominated the second with McCleary completing his hat trick, one off Carl Pleddyn, Sam Buckley with a brace and Sam Roberts with the last.

Offa's Dyke now top the table after an 8-0 home success over the White Bear. They took an early lead through Sam Spridgeon, this being added to by Sam McCleary and Callum Humphreys before the break.The second half then saw Spridgeon and McCleary go on to complete their hat tricks before Leon Whitley completed the scoring late on.
The Boathouse got its first points of the season with a 4-2 win over visiting Wrexham Lager Club.Andy Jones and Johnny Crossley had the hosts 2-0 at the interval and although the Lager matched them in the second half, another Crossley strike and Jack Sullivan gave the Boathouse all three points.

Sunday Football is up and running in North East Wales with three matches played over the weekend.
The early leaders are Claims Solutions UK who won 7-4 away at the Boathouse. The hosts took an early lead through Johnny Crossley but the visitors soon responded with Jake Riley netting. The Boathouse then added two more before the break via Johnny Crossley again and Kyle Harte for a 3-1 interval lead. The second half saw Claims dominate and took a 6-3 advantage through Jake Riley again and a brace each from Danny Wynne and Dane Brown. Johnny Crossley then completed his hat trick for the hosts before Adam Randalls completed the scoring for the visitors.
Flint FC got its campaign off with a 1-1 draw at the White Bear. Neither side could break the deadlock in the opening half and it was Lee Beck that broke the stalemate with a twenty yard strike on seventy five minutes. The hosts salvaged a point when Lee Fowler converted a low cross with seven minutes left.
New boys Wrexham Lager Club went down 3-0 at home to Offa's Dyke at Brymbo. A Jay Meacock brace gave the visitors a half time lead and Ryan McCreary completed the task in the second.
